I seem to retire a lot these days when it comes to gaming of sorts…but in this case…I just couldn’t support a game that is backwards on what is defined as BETA. Minecraft is in Beta still…at v1.7 coming soon. I couldn’t go through another update while administrating a server. The last 2 cause the server to be down for a combined 2 weeks. No one wants to play this game as vanilla anymore, it is all about the mods. So where the hell is the support for mods?!? Come one, instead of adding new objects and features…in a BETA…how bout fixing the game itself and get the mod API going. Just seems ridiculous to me to call a game in Beta, after 2.5 million copies sold and treating it as it is in development still.

Anyways, my buddy Idiotboy is taking it over and is already doing great. I hope the next update will go well for him.

All about E3!

Here is why..

I had faith in you Gearbox. After years of delays with 3dRealms and the turd they laid…is it now your turn to be the butt of the joke? I don’t care how much game footage or how many people played the game at PAX East. A delay? Again? And you are making a big joke about it!

There is no interest from me to play that game any longer. I had bought in to the hype after much resistance. Planned a day off from work to play DNF. Planning a major upgrade to my PC because that is the ONLY system DNF should be played on. It was ripped from my hands again with another DELAY!

Duke Nukem is my all time favorite IP that just gets shit on. 3d Realms shut down and I gave up my old website. Again, I have lost confidence in the industry. How can one of the most iconic characters in gaming get no respect?

I know…a month…waited this long blah blah blah. I’m not waiting any longer. Whos to say that it won’t be delayed again? Gearbox! How could you fuck this up? Announced May 3rd…with the history…in my mind…you are now part of the joke that is DNF.

I’m done. No more Gearbox games…no Duke Nukem…ever. At this point…I don’t even want to play any games.

So I see a lot of folks still searching for kMod hitting this site. The Minecraft server I host was on kMod for a bit while hMod was no longer being developed. Well, kMod is no longer being developed…wtf? So I found Meaglin in the Minecraft forums that started up development on hMod again. This was great for awhile…

If you are an hMod lover, check out the thread here in the Minecraft.net forums. There is a problem though…plugin support is dwindling for hMod, BIG TIME. I have recently had some issues with a griefer and world corruption on my server and finally I had to give in and start searching for more options.

Bukkit came along right after the original hMod closed up shop. It took a bit for a release to be made and it isn’t entirely like hMod out of the box. However, it is really similar to setup and there are TONS of plugins for this.

At the moment, my server is running the following:

• Bukkit or CraftBukkit
• Warp0zr – Warps and SetHome points
• Minecart Mania – since it doesn’t seem like minecarts will ever work right or that the game will ever finish being developed.

Soon I will be adding BigBrother, a mod that will protect against griefing and will track all changes to allow blocks to be reverted back. Requires an SQL DB but well worth the effort.

Ditch kMod…you may need to ditch hMod finally too. Plugin support is with Bukkit!

kMod is being developed by a kick ass programmer since no one seems to be able to graps (Bukkit) that the lose of hMod was a HUGE blow to the Minecraft community. Since n0tch hates any sort of mobility other than walking, lame by the way, kMod will help us around the world again. All you have to do is download the mod file, and rename it Minecraft_mod.jar or whatever you may have.

Still some bugs but it is the best thing we go going right now! Notch….listen to the people that bought the game…at least have /home or something!

The latest update allow the creation of music blocks. OH BOY…this will probably be the first of many.

At least it isn’t Billy Mitchell! Seems according to the article that Chien, Wiebe, and Mitchell will be going head to head at a competition this year in public. Awesome!
